Dali Serrano (Alzheimer’s patient)
Alzheimer’s is very prevalent in my family, from my great-grandfather, grandmother, mother, aunts and uncles, to me. At age 53, I am at the beginning stages of the disease. It is very difficult for me as I still work but have to continually learn how to do my job, with the assistance of my manager. It has also affected my sons and my husband. I forget to take my medicine and constantly forget what I said, only to be told that I “said that already.” It’s extremely frustrating for me, and probably more frustrating for my family. My wish is a world without Alzheimer’s, not just for me, but for my sons and all future generations.
