It was so hard at first to understand what my mother was going through. she would repeat the same question over and over and over never remembering the answer from 30 minutes ago. It progressed slowly, always downward until at last I think she didn’t know who I was. I think the last year or two, maybe three, the Saving Grace of it all it was probably that she didn’t realize the enormity of memories she had lost.
