My 96 1/2-year-old mom is on hospice right now and is transitioning. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through in my life and I’ve been a caregiver for almost 12 years – the isolation on top of losing my mom is heartbreaking. I was a very fortunate recipient of your grant, and while I used a few of the hours to go to a wedding and a family engagement party earlier in the year, mom’s health declined so I did not leave her after that. Fortunately, I’m able to use those extra hours now as she’s transitioning. And it means the world to me. Thank you for always being there for all patient families.
